Our first ever Festival of Fitness, #VSHackney was an incredibly inspiring experience - and we're just getting started.
A huge thank you to all who showed up and raced, cheered, danced, laughed, stretched and did yoga, threw back some pints, made flower crowns and high fived strangers. Thank you to the town of Hackney for hosting and every single person, behind the scenes, on the courses and in the front lines who made this all possible.
Our Hackney Half marathon was one of the finest yet, and a special thank you to Sir Richard Branson for kicking off the start and passing out medals. A big congratulations to all of our finishers, the kids who completed the School's Challenge, and the lovely runners who went a little extra and smashed our 5.5k!
Sir Richard Branson kicks off the Hackney Half!

And they're off!
A nice little jog in front of the Empire.
Running with friends is always fun.
Time to get dancing.
Hula hoopin' for the Hackney Half.
A post-race massage from Your Physio Plan.
Thank you to Daybreaker who brought the early morning energy, our Go Fit Yourself instructors including Faisal Abdalla, Fat Buddha Yoga, Bradley Simmonds, and Shona Vertue, the local pop-ups and trucks who served up everything from pizza and mouth-watering burgers, to green juices, buddha bowls, and beers, the musicians of Enchorus and Tropicalia to just name a few, Mr. Doodle for going on an art marathon, and our incredible crew leaders and backpackers who made sure everyone crossed the finish line.
Get ready and pre-register for Virgin Sport Hackney 2018 - next year is going be even better than the last and we already can't wait.
Virgin Sport is so grateful to have worked alongside Hackney Council, who helped us encourage local residents and visitors to move through sport.
Lace up and experience the city’s most iconic landmarks with a very British 10k. Run by Trafalgar Square, the Embankment, Big Ben and more on our hop-on-keep-hopping run tour. Do it for the Queen, do it for your country or do it for the glory that is summertime in London.
