We're working hard with the local authorities to provide updates on the 2020 Hackney Moves festival. In the meantime, we've launched Hackney Moves for Heroes, a solo running challenge benefitting Homerton Hope, Hackney's Homerton Hospital NHS trust.
Choose your distance (5K or Half Marathon), complete your run and upload your finish time to receive a virtual goody bag and join the leaderboard. In addition to the digital goody bag for all finishers, there will be prizes on offer for each male and female age category winner.
Anyone can register for free, regardless of whether you are registered for the Hackney Half or Hackney 5K.
Run 21k and see how you stack up on the leaderboard. Participants will receive a digital bib and goody bag. Upgrade your ticket to receive a Hackney Moves Notch bracelet and goody bag in the mail.

CHOOSE YOUR DISTANCE
Choose your own adventure by registering for either the 5K or Half Marathon distance.
Registration will be live from 15 May - 1 June. After you've registered, you can complete your solo 5k or half marathon challenge and upload your results at any time.
SUBMIT YOUR TIME
We suggest you use a tracking app, such as Nike Run Club, to log your running activity - any tracking app or watch can be used.
To join the leaderboard, go to the results page on Virgin Sport's registration platform, Race Roster, and submit your finish time. You'll be asked to confirm your registration and submit a photo as evidence of your time. Visit our virtual race results guide for a step by step tutorial. Results must be uploaded by 5 June to be considered for prizes.
Please ensure that whilst taking part in the virtual challenge you continue to monitor and follow all government guidance regarding exercising outdoors and social distancing.
You can complete the challenge any time. If parks and streets are too busy to run safely following current social distancing guidelines, then please wait for an alternative time to complete your challenge. For more information please visit https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
Whilst the Hackney Half won't be taking place in May, charities still need your fundraising support. Set up a fundraising page through Virgin Money Giving and raise much needed funds for charities that have been impacted by Covid-19.
You can make your miles more meaningful by donating to Homerton Hope, the charity for Homerton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in the registration process. The Homerton Hope charity allows us to raise funds over and above NHS provision, to further enhance their services and make patients' experience even better.
Funds raised by Homerton Hope help to pay for additional equipment, research and innovations, as well as finishing touches and 'extras' that complement the existing high quality care for patients at the Hospital.
In addition to bragging rights, participants will get access to a printable bib, a digital badge, an exclusive digital goody bag and a playlist curated by Hackney Local, DJ G. Winners from each of seven age categories will receive a prize bundle from Hackney Moves event partners.
Participants may choose to upgrade their entry for £10 to receive a limited edition Hackney Moves for Heroes engraved NOTCH bracelet and physical goody bag with samples from Hackney Moves partners KIND and PowerBar.
