Virgin Sport and Youth Sport Trust are passionate about enhancing the lives of all young people in our host communities by providing better access to physical education, physical activity and sport, and ensuring every young person has the opportunity to get the best sporting start in their lives.
Thanks to your amazing generosity and the Virgin Sport British10k participants who donated to our community fund, through our partnership with Youth Sport Trust we’ll be investing £4,500 into an initiative called ‘Westminster Respects’ which works with a number of local primary schools to develop Sports Ambassadors to deliver playground activities to their peers, increase physical activity of pupils at lunchtime and promote positive social situations.
The money raised will go towards the purchase of equipment and provide specialist courses for teachers and parents to deliver sessions and train sport ambassadors. The potential impact of this initiative is expected to reach 230 young people within Westminster.
Virgin Sport covers all of Youth Sport Trust’s overheads to ensure that 100% of all donations are invested into these types of projects.
